Local-first storage
- SnapNote stores note data on your device by default so you can capture, organize, and read content while offline.
- In the current version, core data includes note title, body, tags, star status, archive status, and related on-device settings.
Optional iCloud sync
- iCloud sync is optional. SnapNote uses Apple’s iCloud only after you turn it on.
- The current version mainly syncs text note content, such as title, body, tags, star status, and archive status.
- If you do not enable iCloud, sync does not start and the app continues in local mode.
Attachments
- Images, documents, and other attachments stay on device storage by default and are not automatically uploaded with iCloud.
- This supports a local-first experience and keeps attachment size, upload behavior, and network use easier to control.
How we use permissions
- Camera: take a photo and add it as a local attachment to the current note.
- Photos: pick an image from your library and add it as a local attachment.
- Files: import only the files you choose through the system file picker; SnapNote does not scan your storage in the background.
- Notifications: reminders, review nudges, or related alerts; we do not ask for everything at once on first launch.
- Face ID / Touch ID: enable app lock and protect access to your notes on device. Biometric data is handled by the system; SnapNote does not read or store your fingerprint or face data.
Permissions on demand
- SnapNote does not request every permission the first time you open it.
- We ask only when you use the related feature—such as taking a photo, importing a photo, turning on reminders, or enabling app lock.
Your control
- You can turn off camera, photos, notifications, or biometrics anytime in system Settings.
- You can also disable iCloud sync or app lock in the app, and delete notes and attachments as needed.
Sharing and sale of information
- SnapNote does not sell your personal information.
- The current version is built local-first and does not rely on ads or accounts to deliver core note features.
